Can MSI P6N SLI Platinum handle 2 x R9 280x (NOT CROSSFIRE)?

Hey guys,

Basically I want to run two identical R9 280x on my pc but not in crossfire mode. I have two motherboards, Asus P5N - E SLI and MSI P6N SLI Platinum.

Will any of these mobos handle two 280x ?
