Hi just a quick question...

Current Setup

CPU
Intel Core i5 3570K @ 3.40GHz

RAM
8.00GB Dual-Channel DDR3 @ 679MHz
Motherboard
ASUSTeK COMPUTER INC. P8Z77-V LX (LGA1155)
Graphics
DUAL-DVI (2560x1440@120Hz)
2047MB NVIDIA GeForce GTX 660 Ti (EVGA)
PSU
650W Corsair

I want to upgrade my GPU, im looking to get the Sapphire Radeon R9 290 Tri-X once its released and i was just wondering if my PSU has the power to make this upgrade. Also note I might overclock my CPU in the near future.

Thanks

Solution
Yes, one 650watt Corsair will power ANY single GPU.....
- 200 watts for the system
- 300 watts MAX for the GPU (but, you'll Only draw a bit over 200watts continuous for GPU while gaming..)

NOTE: there are plenty of Crappy PSU of the same or even more wattage that will Not be able to power it thou.....

IF it's a 650watt its a TX or HX (not a builder grade one....) so they are all rock solid.....

As always thou, if your PSU fan is running at a really high speed. And/Or there is a ton of heat billowing off the PSU. Then your "working it too hard..."
