laptop display not working

i have a dell old laptop.its display is not showing.when i on it light shows.i removed battery and checked.again i removed ram.and clean it.but it is not working.how can i work it again

If the screen remains black all the time with nothing showing on it all, it either needs a new screen, a new backlight, or a new inverter board. A repair centre will be able to tell you which of those items it needs, and they'll give you an estimate of how much it's going to cost to fix it. You may find that the cost is too much to spend on an old piece of equipment.

That would not explain why the screen is blank even during the initial boot process, since monitor selection setting only kicks in when Windows loads.

Although this is now an old thread, I felt obliged to point that out for the benefit of anyone who stumbles upon this thread in the future.
