win7 install not completing

Ok, so I decided to reset my computer and have a fresh install of Windows, I have a boot disk and serial key (just incase someone asks if it's a genuine copy).

Now, for coming up to 2 years I always had Win7 boot from my 120GB SSD and it never gave me problems, until I decided for a fresh install.

I booted from my CD drive and began to install Windows, I formatted both my hard drives (the 2nd being a Seagate Barracuda 1TB HDD), and told it to install to my SSD, it wouldn't do it. It kept saying something with a yellow triangle next to it, I can't exactly remember what because it was over a week ago.

So, I decided to install it to my mechanical drive, reformat my SSD from inside Windows itself and try again. This is where things got worse. According to Windows, I didn't have a HDD connected to my PC, only an SSD with Windows (sort of) installed to it. Rebooted my PC and thought it may just needed to restart.

However, when is came to loading my OS it told me that "BOOTMGR" is missing, and to use ctrl+alt+del to restart. So I did. Tried it again and got the same message. By now it was 3am so I gave up.

Skip forward to today.

Boot up, boot menu, boot from CD, get to install and see that 100gb of 111gb was free to use on my SSD, now, I'm no expert on this, but surely Windows is bigger than 11gb? Anyway, formatted them both again and exactly the same thing happens, "BOOTMGR is missing".

Whenever I go to boot menu and select boot from COZ solid state, I get that message, but when I tell it to boot from my HDD, it works fine? (there should be 0 Windows files on it).

Please, I'm begging someone to help me with this, I'm close to ripping my hair out! I was hoping to get this done tonight in time for the Elder Scrolls Online Beta Test this Friday and Saturday. Any help will be greatly appreciated!

The yellow triangle, is because during the windows setup you have to pre load any sata drivers that came, or should be found on the cd or dvd that came with the motherboard.

On the box where it shows you hard drives to install windows to.
There is an option to load drivers.

If in the bios you have the interface type set to Sata mode.
Then you must use the supplied disk that came with motherboard.
Insert the disk and locate the folder that says Sata.

In folder you should find a .inf file extension click on it and install.

If you do not have the disk, then simply set the Sata interface mode to AHCI mode.
Windows 7 does not carry native Sata drivers for each type of Sata chip set used for each board.

So you have two options, Like I...

Have you tried to remove the mechanical drive from the system with only the SSD drive operating and then attempt the Windows7 install? When booting up with the install CD please ensure that you wipe out all the partitions on the SSD and then start over. This way Windows will create an additional partition (100MB) for the boot files etc.

So you have two options, Like I said the yellow exclamation mark is windows saying it does not recognize the sata chip set storage controller of your motherboard.

It is also the reason why the HDD is playing up and has gone missing..

Thank you very much for your reply! this solved the issue's I was having, at first it wasn't working (mainly because I forgot to remove the MOBO CD, oops!) but it's now working fine, thanks again for your help, no to reinstall almost 1TB of files, joy...
