like title said....i already own msi r9 290 gaming non-reference, but the temp dont have that much difference with reference card...even when idle it stay at 43-46 degree, and and gaming (bf 4)...it stay at 82-88degree @65% fan, and try furmark stay at 89 degree @100% fan...is it something wrong with my card or there are problem like 280x old bios?...and im using nzxt switch 810 and i think i have nice airflow

then when i ask to the place i bought it,he offer if i dont want that msi r9 290 i can to trade it with msi r9 280x + 128gb ssd

and i already try the 280x card and dont feel that much difference at gaming

so should i wait hopefully that there will be new bios for r9 290 or trade it with 280x + ssd?
cause some people say r9 290 will be much more better in next gen gaming (like witcher3 , titanfall, etc)

thx b4 and sry for my poor english

More about : 290 280x 1080p

If you know for a fact that the temperature with the 280x will be better, go for it. If not, I would suggest grabbing a GTX 780 or a 780 Ti as they will run a lot cooler.

I have the Gigabyte GTX 770 2GB and It doesn't even hit 70 degrees on 100% load after a 1 hour stress test.
The card can also run every game on max settings. Maybe you should consider it or atleast consider the slighty better 780 Titan both beast cards.

But you if 100% want the R9 series card go for the R9 290 as it hits high frames on most games on max settings but then again It's overkill for just one monitor in my opinion.

Hope this helps

R9 290 is complete over kill in 1080p completely unnecessary. R9 280X is the way to go, however if you can find a GTX 770 for a price you like then get it, its better at 1080p

Ok get the R9 280, that will play any game on ultra at high fps and will perform very well with one monitor.
You will be future proof aswell as the card is high spec!
Also if you get the card make sure you get a good version with a lot of multiple fans on or even better get a aftermarket cooler for the card as you will be able to overclock it without risking overheating or damaging your card!

If you're afraid about future-proofing your PC I don't think an R9 280X is a bad choice. Its target resolution is 1440p so at 1080p you are splurging for effects and added eye-candy.
You'd also be getting a 128gb ssd, so I'd consider it a great deal.
