I am looking at the Acer G236HL Bbd 23-Inch Screen LCD-Lit Monitor. It looks very expensive so I don't want it to fall. Can I screw the base into my wood desk without the monitor breaking?
If your desk is up against a wall, then use the rear VESA mount to attach it to the wall. I'm sure you can find a few creative home-made solutions for that. It'll keep it stable and free up some more space on the desk itself for your keyboard / mouse / etc. and you won't damage your desk.
