I just built a new machine and I have an SSD and an HDD. Every time I install a program, it does not give me any choice where to install the program. It just asks me if i want to install, and installs it on my SSD. I only want games and the os installed on the ssd and everything else on the HDD. Why am I not getting an option? I even chose custom install.

Interesting. I just went through the CoreTemp install, and even the "Custom" install did not give the option of where. It seemed to be Default = "Install and also install Yahoo Toolbar", or Custom = "Install and Not Your Extra Junk (but we'll do it anyway)"

BuhBye Coretemp. No matter how good an application you may be. That is an automatic delete from me.

This is now on my Not Recommended list, simply...

I have seen very, very, very few programs that do not allow the user the choice of where to install them. I'd guess zero in the last decade.

Don't just click through and accept the defaults. Custom or Advanced will almost certainly allow you to choose the install location.

If choosing 'Custom' does not give that option, you have other issues.

I didn't just click through the defaults. I installed core temp and corsair link. Neither gave me an option. When I started my WoW install it had within it's installer a step where I was given an option but I didnt try to change it, I realize I should have, now. The HDD is recognized, I have downloaded and saved things to it.

I just downloaded and installed ventrilo. It has it's own install wizard. It gave me a choice, I installed to the D: drive and it runs from there no problem.

Thanks man, this made me feel a lot better. I appreciate you taking the time to just run the installer and see. I think some few things are just lame and do not give an option. I can live with it. I got the 256gb SSD and I only ever play wow so these small nuisances are ok. Thanks again, really cool of you.
