Hello , i dont know a lot about over clocking , just that it can be risky.. but , i have this over clocking assistant and it looks VERY easy , looks like you just slide the bar up , click save and you are done and have a faster pc. is it really that easy? or do i have to do more than just sliding a bar up in that program? i DO have a unlocked intel processor btw. also , how safe would it be to turn it up all the way? this pc is about a little over one years old i think.

DO. NOT. EVER. USE. THAT.

That is a 1 step solution to fry your computer.

NEVER use software, including bios utilities, to overclock - they will ALWAYS run too much voltage through the chip, producing excess heat and easily frying the chip.

Instead, read one of the very fine stickies to be found on these forums that is tailored to your computer and learn how to overclock correctly. It's not hard at all - just a few steps, repeated until you have an overclock you like. That being said, make sure that you have a CPU cooler that is able to handle the excess heat that comes with increased voltage - the stock intel heatsink isn't going to cut it.

thanks , i figured it was to good to be true = / and yea i have the best cooling i think , water cooling and a HAF X tower for plenty of breathing room ( and ofc plenty of fans ). I am not good with working on computers so i will probably pay a guy to over clock it for me , im hoping its 20-40 bucks and not like 100...guess i will google that...i tried googling it but i couldnt find anything

...you seriously shouldn't pay a guy to overclock it for you, come on.

Search for "overclocking guide + the name of your chip" and you'll have plenty of answers that show you exactly how to do it. It's easy, it just takes a little time to do it correctly because you want to test for stability in between each bump up.
