Need info bout multi core cpu

I recently built a new rig with a Biostar TA970 mother board and a FX6300 six core cpu. CPU-Z reports a 6 core cpu with 4 cores and 4 threads. I checked my bios and it shows 3 compute units (I assume the cpu and the 2 physical cores) I am wondering if there is a problem here. Shouldn't CPU-Z report 6 cores and 6 threads? Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

FX uses compute units. Each compute unit has 1 floating point processor and 2 cores.

4 core and 4 threads sounds like you cloned windows over so its not aware of the new hardware.
Try this:
MSconfig > Boot > Advanced options. Uncheck number of processors or set it to 6.
