recently I purchased new machine with following spec

i7 4770 processor,
Intel DH87MC mother board,
8GB RAM,
n/vidia GT 640 2GB graphic card

Unable to install win xp sp2,
after initial setup reaches installation, screen shows blue screen with error warning message.
help requested in how to install multi-operating OS ( win XP and Win 7 64 bit)

thanks

You first need to check on the PC maker's own website to see if they have Windows XP drivers for your model, or if it's a custom-built machine, check the motherboard maker's website to see if they have XP drivers for that motherboard model.

Without XP drivers, there is no point installing XP because the hardware components won't work properly (if at all) on XP.

if XP drivers are available. please post back for instructions on how to install XP for dual-booting. We also need to know what the error message said on the blue screen.

hi phillip corcoran

thanks for your reply.

mine is completely custom built machine, with above spec components

while installing win xp sp2 after initial setup suddenly blue scree comes on with an error.

(I don't have much technical knowledge in computer system).

After browsing web I changed (While Booting the system - pressed F2 and changed 'chipset SATA mode to IDE (System have IDE,ACHI,RAID)' and rebooted the system with WIN XP SP2 bootable CD in CD drive, with this set up I installed WIN XP SP2 in above mentioned spec i7 machine.

I don't know weather this process is correct. Later I want add WIN 7 OS - Is this possible ?????
