Im building a new pc and i already have windows 8 on my old wd caviar blue, can i just stick that into my new pc and be ready to go. What if I want to put windows on a ssd in the future, would i need to buy another copy of windows again? thanks

You should be able to just boot off of your current drive that has windows 8, the only reason you would need to buy another copy is if you wanted windows 8 on both of your computers. Only one computer per licence, but if you will simply use the drive with windows 8 already on it, it's fine. And when you upgrade to an SSD you can probably just put the files on a USB and convert it onto the SSD from the hard drive.

Hope this helps!
