I just hooked up my PC to my 40 inch Samsung TV and what you need to do is go to sources (aerial, HDMI1, HDMI2, etc.) and then tools and rename the port to PC. And with renaming I mean choosing the name PC from the list.

That is the (stupid and undocumented!) way you choose PC mode on Samsung TV's.
And on my TV at least it somehow disables certain filters which I can not disable manually and the text and screen becomes clear and sharp.

You probably have a separate HDMI port called HDMI DVI for that. On my TV I have 2 HDMI ports on the side and 1 seperate HDMI port on the back called HDMI DVI.
How close are you sitting to the 42" screen? Larger size, same pixel count, the 42inch is going to look worse at the same distance away if you are close. If you are sitting further away though, it'll look the same as the 27" up close.

Hate to say this but TV monitors are NOT meant for gaming. The PPI density is not even remotely close to gaming monitors. On top of that the latency might be too high to even respond correctly when playing games that require frame by frame precision. Hope that helps~ Good luck!

it makes sense, but for the 42 i push it further away from me but the 27 i pull it closer, so ill see how it goes with a 32" TV
