if a case fan has a 4 pin connector in it also a CPU fan, what is the main differences between a case fan and a cpu fan?

Yea the only reason why CPU fans mainly have a 4th pin is for Speed Adjustment which it does on its own.

Not quite "Any" But if it fits then sure. If it uses like a standard 80mm fan that is removable then yea. A lot of Aftermarket Heatsinks you are unable to do that. I know most intel stock heatsinks you can't AMD however do use standard 80mm. You don't NEED a 4 pin though. Pretty much you have 1 pin for ground, 1 ping for power, 1 pin reads the current speed of the fan (This is a normal 3 pin fan) and then CPU's have a 4th pin that allows it to adjust the Fan speed. If you put on a 3 Pin it will just be on max all the time unless you put in a fan control unit. otherwise you need a 4 pin fan
