I just got done installing my new motherboard and processor. I went from a AsRock 990fx Extreme4 with a FX-6350 to a Gigabyte G1.Sniper Z87 with a I7 4770k. I also had a sound card installed. But on the AsRock board when I had the sound card installed it didn't want to boot up a lot and crashed. After I removed the sound card the problem went away. When I went to install it on this board I get this very odd and loud and fast clicking nose anytime I try to open up the recording tab on the sound page and the page just freezes up. It also under the playback tab it shows the sound card but it wont let me enable it. I then removed the sound card and went with the onboard. The onboard shows to be enable and I no longer get the odd noise from my computer not the headphones btw. I also can adjust the volume now but if I play a video on youtube I get no sound and if I try to start a song in Windows Media player it says, "Windows Media Player cannot play the file because there is a problem with your sound device. There might not be a sound device installed on your computer, it might be in use by another program, or it might not be functioning properly."

I can't for the love of god figure out this problem. I'm honestly thinking of just formatting my ssd and reinstalling windows.

Solution
=That explains it. You could have done sysprep on your OS before you switched. Now the best thing you can do is save all the data that you don't want to lose and then reinstall windows from scratch.
Try installing the audio driver again. Get the latest version at the MB web site. The first install will delete the old driver and after a restart, install the new audio driver. Do this without the sound card installed. If there is a driver for the sound card, uninstall it first.

Alright well everything is working just fine now except my USB Mic.

It's a Blue Snowball USB Mic and when I plug it in, it does install the drivers and shows up under Devices and Printers as my Blue Snowball Mic but it has the ! in a yellow triangle next to it and when i go to properties then hardware on it. It has another ! in a yellow triangle next to, (USB Audio Class 1.0 and 2.0 DAC Device Driver. And under it's properties it says in the Device status box this, (This device cannot start. (Code 10)

The I/O request was canceled.)
