I am planning to buy a UPS for my system unit, what rating should i buy? although I know that 1kVA is the right one but I want to get a cheaper/lower rating that could also support my unit,

Here's my specs:
processor: AMD APU 5800k @ 4.2Ghz
ram: Corsair Vengeance 1866Mhz 2x4GB
mobo: GA-F2A85X-D3H
psu: corsair VS550 - 550Watts
HDD: WD green 2TB and WD 320GB
OS : Windows 7 Ultimate 64-bit

Thanks!

Solution
So get the 600VA one of APC, will be sufficient for you. It costs less and the replacement battery will also cost less than a 1KVA. Good luck.
It will depend on how many minutes you want the backup while power failures. Generally 600VA UPS will give you 10-15 mins backup. So if that sufficient than get a 600VA of APC UPS best in market.

1KVA will give you more backup time but will be costly, so think before you buy. And a 600VA UPS will be sufficient for your entire setup and will be compatible with your components.

My only purpose for the UPS is to shutdown my unit safely in times of power outage, so I think 10-15minutes of back-up will be enough.
