Hi all, I'm looking for a new ATX 1155 motherboard.

I have:

i7 3770K
XFX550W Pro 46amp (I will be buy a new one when i upgrade my graphics card to a R9 290x)
1600ddr3 2x4GB
2x R7850 2GB
Samsung 840 Evo 250gb
1TB Harddrive
Benq GL2460 (Gaming @ 1080p)

Must Have:

Excellent for overclocking.
CF with enough room in between the cards for good air flow (Dual slot cards)
16x16 pci-e lanes.

£300 Budget.

Any Ideas what to get?

Thanks

Thank for the reply, looks a good board but I'm looking serious high-end, like I said I have £300 put aside for this, that motherboards like £80ish lol

I guess the 16x16 lanes is limiting it a bit and I've been reading that gen-3 8x8 will be fine (correct me if I'm wrong) so I don't mind 8x8, my main worry is space between cards as I will get 2 290x's in time.

What about the ASUS ROG motherboards?

Even going top of the line Maximus Extreme you are looking at 8x8 on the Z77, same on the Formula, they have a few more bells and whistles, in fact when I picked up my Extreme 4, I fully planned to get the Formula, but had the 3570K (an ES model) and wanted to jump and play.....once I had the EX4 never found a reason to move up from it, have my 3570K at 4.7, and running 32GB of 2400 Tridents, only problem I had was the EX4 originally was limited in the BIOS to a tRFC timing of 255 and the 32GB sets of fast DRAM want higher, my original set of 32 was the RJ X 2133/9 and it wanted a tRFC of 278, got in contact with the Rock folks and explained things and we went back and forth and they slipped a new BIOS opening the upper reach for the tRFC which fixed the problem, and the Tridents (needing 314 went smoothly as an upgrade), but have run up through 780s in SLI on the EX4 with no problems, built it with 3770Ks that could run 32GB of 2666 so it's a good solid mobo....The formula has a little more room between the PCI-E slots

just checked and it mite just fit lol, its like mm's gap tho, I'll just have to buy a new case if it don't I guess.

Cant wait to get this thing now!, I have a H55 cooler(push&pull) and its kept my 3770k @72c max (prime95 all night) @4.4ghz 1.23v and I know it can go more but this motherboard i got is quite terrible (p8z77-m pro), vrms nearly burnt out (melted pads/mosfets got loose), NB super hot (even after changing the tim) and its not a case of no air flow lol

I realize this is an old thread which you probably won't care to read, but I wanted to know your thoughts on your z77 with the i5 3570k. I was planning on getting that motherboard so I can overclock my cpu. Also, I wanted to know what kind of heatsink you have for your cpu? I was leaning towards the 212 EVO. I heard it was a pretty good alternative to water-cooling.

That actually happened to me when I bought my GTX 770. Price went down and they included 3 free games instead of the just 1 that I received with mine. Oh the agony....Anyways I hope you don't mind me asking you any questions in the next day or so when my motherboard and heatsink arrive. I may need some guidance in case I run into a problem.
