Gigabyte 7970 (GV-R797TO-3GD) [1100/6000] vs Gigabyte 290X (GV-R929XD5-4GD-B) [1000/5000] vs 780 Ti (GV-N78TOC-3GD) [1085/7000]. Which one is better @ 1080p (ULTRA Settings). And which GPU can be hold longest time for commfortable play @ 1080p ULTRA Settings? Sorry for my bad english :)

well, not really soo easy, and if the mining madness quiets down such that the 290x drops down to normal pricing the ti is way overpriced compared to the 290x.

I wasn't talking about performance/value, only performance-wise.

I'd say this is an easy win for the GTX 780ti

I would go with Nvidia because their is Advanced Physx,g-sync,shadow play,Cuda cores but the r9 290x is cheaper I would go with Nvidia good luck

I am also with GTX 780 Ti.

R9 290X is slower and runs much hotter (around 15°C - 20°C more than 780 Ti).
If budget is not a concern then Nvidia is a great choice.

R9 Card just overheat and run at insanely high temperatures. Get the Gigabyte GTX 780 Ti it has better performance and amazing cooling.

Hope this helps!
