I don't know whats wrong. I hadn't touch my Desktop for months and this starts showing up. No Internal CDROM drive is detected. Whenever I plug the SATA cables of my CDROM properly(what I mean properly is I'm pushing the SATA cables hard.), when I turn on my computer, it boots slow, very slow! When I checked 'My Computer', the CDROM drive shows up and then seconds later, it disappears. I don't know. Maybe it's my PSU or the SATA cables? Don't tell me this is the problem that the forum have no answers!

Try a new SATA cable first.

If still no joy, the CD drive itself may have failed and needs replacing. It would be very useful in troubleshooting the problem if you could borrow a known-working CD drive to start with. You would then know for sure if your CD drive was faulty before spending money on a new one.
