Anti virus software problem

when i start xp i get a window opening with AVG folders in it.
this has only just started to happen.
any idea to stop this happening and return to normal startup?

yes,its an explorer window that opens with AVG folders in it.
the address line is
C:\Documents and Settings\my name\Application Data\AVG

(changed to my name as dont want to show full real name)

was thinking about uninstalling,then downloading AVG then reinstalling it.
thought would ask here before i do that incase there is better advice on here.

nothing in the startup folder,no mention of it in startup tab of msconfig,only the - avgui "C:\programfiles\AVG which loads AVG as normal.no mention of C:\Documents and Settings\my name\Application Data\AVG.
sorry for my ignorance but dont know how to use autoruns.exe from sysinternals pack.
dont know where to find sysinternals pack,never used or heard of it before.
if someone can tell me how to run autoruns.exe from the sysinternals pack would be helpfull.

just downloaded it and ran it.
found and unticked the box with the same pathline i mentioned that was opening that explorer window.
rebooted xp and no longer getting that window opening at start up,many thanks for the advice and link.
problem solved.
