Okay, so here are my specs:

http://pcpartpicker.com/user/FunkTheWorld/saved/

Now, I built the PC and everything all last night (it's my first rig so I spent about 8 hours working on this) and everything worked great the first time I turned it on. I have an SSD and HDD but figured the HDD isn't necessary right now so instead I'll swap out the cables from the HDD to the Optical Drive so that I may install windows 8.1 from my disc.

I turn off the PC using the power button, take off both side panels, unplug the 2 cables from the HDD and route them into the Optical Drive. I let it sit for about 15 seconds before turning it on, and all of a sudden nothing shows up on my TV anymore. (I would be using the monitor I ordered but apparently a "neighbor" signed for it while I was in class and I don't even recognize the name....)

Everything showed up fine the first time, but now nothing shows up. Everything seems to be plugged in correctly since as I said I only moved two cables, none of which are related to turning on or the display. Every part seems to turn on just fine, I can even control the light settings on my case fans via the button on the top, and when I turn it on I can hear the drive start, but nothing actually happens on my monitor. The GPU fans, PSU fan, case fans, and aftermarket heatsink all are running, just nothing shows up anymore after that first boot.

I suppose it's also worth noting that the first time I booted the PC up that my keyboard turned on and so did my mouse, but now those don't turn on either. I'm not really sure what could have went wrong, so any ideas?

Try reseating the GPU, may not be in all the way, and then try another PCIe slot.

If that doesn't work, have you tried resetting the BIOS? Unplug the PC, pop out the CMOS battery for about a minute, pop it back in and reboot.

Just tried both as my CMOS battery happened to be under my graphics card haha, same result though :\

Did you get a case speaker to plug into the motherboard? And does anything work when you plug the monitor into the integrated graphics on the motherboard?

I'm using an HDMI monitor, so I've been using the HDMI port to plug into my monitor that I picked up this morning as well as my TV. I do have speakers that just came in with the monitor this morning, but I've not plugged them into USB yet.

Nothing USB works right now, my keyboard lights don't turn on like they did the first time.

Ok, but I was asking if you have the monitor plugged in directly to the motherboard or to the GPU itself, and if it works with the motherboard as opposed to the GPU

It was plugged into the motherboard, I just plugged it into the GPU and am trying it now.

EDIT: It told me to power down the PC and plug in the PCIe power cable in for the Graphics Card but I do have the PCIe cables plugged in. I only needed one set of 6 (the other 2 don't get plugged in, right?)?

Well your card has a 6 pin and 8 pin connector on it, you need both plugged in to the power supply for that to work. Does that mean you got display though?

Edit:: Didn't notice you had the Rev 2.0,you need 2 sets of 8 pin power connectors, labeled PCIe, plugged in.

Well, the monitor definitely turned on this time since it told me that so that's definitely a plus. And yeah, I just checked the box and found the two cables I think I need lol. I'll try them right now.

EDIT: Hahaha, wow, you're amazing man.

I realize now how much of an idiot I am for not checking the manual for the GPU. I was following a tutorial from a guy using the same case and stuff as me, but his components were different. It seemed to be working fine I guess until he said to only use the 6-pin and not the little 2-pin with it, so I figured mine was the same even though I had two 8-pins.

Thanks so much! I think I can set it up now. :)

You're not an idiot man, no worries. We all have that, good news is you got your 1 mess up during setup over with, and it wasn't a hardware problem :)

Have fun with the rest of it all, enjoy it!

Haha yeah I was praying that it wasn't the GPU or motherboard, I was going to hate having to reinstall the aftermarket heatsink because that whole time I was terrified that I was touching the mobo and ruining it or something.

Thanks again!
