Does it matter which PCI-E slot I use for ASRock Z77 extreme 4?

So, I moved my graphics card from the top PCI-E slot to the the bottom one.

For reference:

I did this in hopes to reduce the static my stand-up microphone seems to be plagued by (didn't seem to help). In the process I accidentally broke the locking clip for the top PCI-E slot. My graphics card is the MSI Lightning N780 which VERY heavy.

I have read most people say the locking clip doesn't really matter, but this may be the exception due to the excessive weight of my card.

Basically, will I have any performance issues with keeping my card at the lower PCI-E slot? I haven't notice any yet, but I also haven't tested it much.

The last concern I have is the cards ability to cool itself. The fans are now very close to the PSU. Maybe 1-2" separate them and there are also a few chords between them (from the case to the MOBO for USB and LED connections). However, now there is much more room between the back of the card where the heat-sinks are and the rest of my components.

Let me know what you guys think.

Thanks,

BeeGeePee

P.S. if you have any other suggestions on how to reduce the static/increase my voice pick-up by my microphone I would appreciate that.

This is my crappy microphone. It may not be fixable:

if it doesn't overheat there's no reason not to keep it on the second one.you can check temperatures while you play. but the difference if any should be small.

I heard people mentioning that sometimes the slots are different performance. I can't imagine this board doesn't have two full powered slots.
