I'm new to computers

I"m completely new to computer building game and I'm in search of wisdom. I am going to start building my own computer and I want to start with the processor. I do game, but I don't play the most demanding games. The most demanding I have now is probably the Day Z standalone. I'm learning computer programming now so in the future I will need to compile. Being able to stream a little wouldn't be all that bad either. For the processor I'm looking to spend $100-$150, and will go up a little if necessary or if that's what's best. I do not need this to be futureproof but as you can image I wouldn't like a new build or whatever to come out and instantly my computer becomes a relic.

So any recommendations? I don't have any brand preferences

For the $150 mark you want to look at the 8320...great CPU for the money but I'd grab a cheap cooler to go with it for Day-Z
Day-Z standalone is quite intensive on the CPU side of things...

There is also the I3 Haswells....It will more than likely run Day-Z better than the 8320 but other games may suffer and it's not as future proof. Something you may want to look into a bit more to find if what games you like in order to get the best performance for your needs.

I say your best best is an 8320 and a hyper 212 evo with a moderate overclock.
