Hit there,
i was wondering which would be better for gaming across many different game titles. I plan on playing BF4 (so amd card + mantle would work well) but ive also heard that phyx is also something to condsider.

Please help me. Btw they are both the same price but the xfx comes with a free BF4 copy

FX 6300
4GB RAM(i am going to get 4 more soon)
600w psu

In current real time performance, the gtx 770 shows a bit extra performance than the r9 280x.
Therefore, if you want higher performance with Advanced PhysX (not PhysX,OK) go for 770.
If you're more excited of project Mantle, which is further delayed by AMD and may take time to appear in other gaming titles than bf4, you Can! go for 280x. (knowing that it is currently overpriced due to bitcoin thing)

Neither of those two. I have a gtx 770 and i can play bf4 on ultra settings just fine. My other friends has the 280x and they are satisfied with its performance as well.

Go for the 280x if it comes with a bf4.

If you're looking for BF4, definitely get at least another 4GB of RAM lol but about the GPU, the 770 is by itself a more powerful card, but the 280x isn't very far behind. Depending on price, and since you are looking to get a free copy of BF4, the 280x would be my choice

The lower TMU count doesn't matter, though, as altogether the GTX 770 manages to provide 36.7 GTexel/s better texturing performance.The GTX 770 having 204.8 better shader performance is not particularly notable, as altogether the Radeon R9 280X performs better when taking into account other relevant data.

If I were you , I would buy the 770.

Bearing in mind all of your suggestions i think that i will get the 770 and get Bf4 later. There was 1 last question.
Will the 770 still be relevant in the coming years(meaning that it has 2Gb instead of the 3GB xfx card)

As long as you are gaming at 1080p on a single monitor, you will get great performance out of a 770 for awhile. I just recommended the 280x because it would give you a free download of the game you wanted to play lol
