Will an i5 work with this motherboard?

Hey, I have recently decided i need a CPU upgrade from my I3 in my Acer Aspire 3985 as i did not get the Acer Aspire 3985 with I5 3330 when i purchased it. So my question is seeing as the model was avaliable with the i5 would i be able to upgrade?

Yes, definitely. Both processors use socket LGA1155.

Yes, you would be able to use any of 2nd and 3rd gen. i5 processors with that mobo. ALL THE BEST !!!

Make sure to get an Ivy bridge I5 (3k series) or Sandy bridge (2k). Haswell (4k) is a different socket and will not work in that board.

and yes you can updrade from an I3 3220(3rd gen) to an I5 3330(3rd gen) without changing mobo. But 4th gen haswell are not supported.

Go with a i5-3570 its a bit faster and only 20 bucks more.
