I decided to turn on my power supply to plug in some fans, just to see if it would work. The fans did not spin.

Products used below:

http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B009JCGIF6/ref=oh_de... - Connector
http://www.corsair.com/builder-series-cx600.html - psu
http://www.corsair.com/en/cpu-cooling-kits/air-series-f... - fans I'm using. I'm also using the 2 fans that come with the case.

If I turn on the psu, and only have the 4 pin peripheral connectors plugged in (no ATX connector or anything else), should the fans work? Or is it dependent on having the other stuff plugged in too?

I should mention that I did turn on the psu using the back switch, and the fans are 12v.

Could anyone help me please?

Thanks!
Dan.

the fans should work only if they ar directly plagged on the psu. if they are powered through molex adaptor plagged on the motherboard they work as soon as computer powers on

You need to short the green and any black wire on the 24 pin motherboard connector with a paper clip to power up the PSU.
