My motherboard MCP6PB M2+ v 6.7 and I've had a Phenom 3 core 8250 in there but I got a FX 6300.
The leaflet in the package said it would work in a am2+, am3 or am3+ socket. I installed it without trouble but it didn't work. Read online, found the reason for my trouble, so reinstalled old processor, tried a BIOS update, had a hell of a time getting the computer up and going again.
Will the Processor actually work and can anyone link or explain more clearly what it is I need to update on the BIOS. Everything I read the first time was pretty obscure and the biostar website had so many options to download I don't know if I picked the right one.
