Should my headsets go or stay?

your choice as to whether you should get rid of them.
generally if your soundcard or software supports virtual surround its about the same as the speakers with multiple drivers except the quality is better.
i have a pair of m50s. good headphones, more so when you can find them for $99 on ebay brand new (i paid $150+/- a few years ago at a retail store).
