Alright so I'm on my way to my first gaming computer. On the 3rd I got my case and I just ordered my gpu (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...) Now I'm not much of a psu guy. I don't know what all those fancy numbers mean. I know that the 660 requires at least a 400w psu with 24 amps. Here is my psu, will this work? http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=17-153-...
Thanks for the help guys, I know about gpus and cpus, but when it comes to psus you could probably write down some random letters and I'd believe them.

More about : gpu psu support

Hi - a good quality 550w unit is more than sufficient for a system with one gtx660. There are better choices than the TT Smart, however. Are you locked in to Newegg as your source?

However, at that price, go with the TT Smart 550.

Really, if I can save money and still get a quality psu I'll be happy. I know NewEgg recommends the wattage of psu to get, and with my system it's about 480 watts. However every other power supply caculator is giving me about 400 - 420 watts. I think I'm going to go with this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...) or this (http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E168...) As I said I'm not locked to newegg but I am locked to no more than $50 for a psu. I think a 500 watt should be fine though.

Hi - You are correct, the online calcs never agree and almost always suggest more than you need. I mentioned before a good quality 550 is more than enough, that's true. You could do well with a good 450 - 520 unit.

EVGA has some decent PSU's, but the two you linked I would not recoommend. Both of those are made by HEC,
a bottom feeder OEM.

The best deal on a fair quality 500 is:

better quality, but right at $50 after mir:
http://pcpartpicker.com/mr/ncixus/xfx-power-supply-p155...

or a gold efficiency modular 450 with more than enough +12v amps for your system:
