I have a functioning Pavilion motherboard sporting 8 GB of RAM and a hefty 2.4 GHz i5 processor. To keep things short, I've spent the better part of the last week giving this thing optimal cooling with an old refrigerator compressor. The cooler works like a dream and the processor runs at sub-zero temperatures. However, I plan on locking out three cores and pushing this thing to its absolute limit. Do I need a new BIOS chip in order to do this? Will the CMOS stop me from overclocking through software?
