Triple R9 290 vs 780ti 2 way SLI

The performance will be pretty close to the same. The SLI GTX 780 TI's will give you a better over all experience and less of a head ache vs going Tri-fire, not to mention they will use less power/produce less heat.

does he mean a 290 vs 2x GTX 780ti in sli?
If so 2x 780 tis in sli are waaay more powerful than a single 290, so if you can get that then get it.
however 780 ti vs 49 290 is a pretty tough battle as they have the same performance
