I recently installed a Nividia GeForce GT620 into my mom's desktop and after installing the Nividia drivers the computer is running incredibly slow. After doing research about other problems like this, I have seen that a driver conflict is often the cause. However, I am not entirely sure how to solve the problem if this is the case.

Before installing the new graphics card, the machine ran with little problem.
Also, the GeForce GT620 appears in the Device Manager, so there's that..

Specs are as follows: (Obtained from System Properties)

Gateway DX4840
Windows 7 Home Premium 64-bit
Intel Core i3 @ 3.07GHz
8GB RAM

Was there a different graphics card in there before that? Did you uninstall the drivers for that card before installing the new one? If not, uninstall all graphics card drivers and start from scratch.

Alright, so I took out the new graphics card and uninstalled both the Intel graphics driver and the Nividia drivers that were on the computer. After this step, I put the GT620 back into the computer and tried to install the Nividia drivers again.

However, when I tried to do this, I received an Input/Output error.

Yes, I plugged the VGA into the new port when I installed the new video card. When I tried to install the Nvidia drivers it stopped at 5% and an error message came up

“The request could not be performed because of an I/O device error.”

I tried to install the drivers twice and the error message came up both times. Once before and once after restarting the computer.
