Having Trouble overclocking AMD 750k

I have recently been trying to overclock my CPU. I am a noob in this category and don't really know where to start.
I tried to use AMD overdrive, I ran Auto tune, and when I tested the CPU at 4.0 GHz in Minecraft I got massive amounts of stuttering.
I really don't know what to do now. I think it has something to do with matching the GHz with the voltage, but I don't know how to calculate that. Googled it too, and got nothing.

Solution

The max stock voltage for the 750k is 1.35v. I don't like to change the voltage on my CPU or RAM because I like my components to last long, but it's up to you. Either way, that CPU should have no problems pushing 4 GHz at stock voltage. I also like any product by Gelid...

I just got this cooler yesterday. It's a Gelid solutions slim hero. It's a slim line 120mm cooler for my itx build. My idle temps are from 40-45c and during load it goes up to about 50-55c. I did originally change some settings in my bios, but I set them back to the stock settings at 3.4 GHz. The only thing I don't understand is how to choose the correct voltage.

They make awesome case fans, and I'm probably going to purchase a cooler from them soon.
