Hi all, I just received and installed my crucial m500 120 GB ssd yesterday. windows 8.1 pro install on it went fine, and i reformatted my old hdd and am now using it as just a storage drive. problem is, when i shut my computer down, it doesnt really shut down... i mean the windows shutdown screen comes up, leaves, and the screen shuts off, but the LEDs in my case and my CPU cooler and fans all keep running.. I have to hold down the power button to shut it down fully. it "shuts down" but won't power off. any ideas? i thought it was maybe a result of the power settings i messed with following the ssd installation and optimization guide from the sidebar of /r/buildapc, but i reset those to default and it didnt solve the problem. i don't know if this is a hardware problem or a software problem, but i really need help. thanks!

I had same problem a few weeks ago. Loads of good advice from many folks on here. Finally reset CMOS on motherboard a second time - but left it shorted out for about 30 seconds instead of the 8 seconds as advised in mobo literature. Shortly afterwards had a reply from Asrock techi who advised leaving it for at least a minute. Dunno if this is any help to you but may be worth a try. I tried this as a last resort thinking it was win 7 playing up so even reinstalled win 7 and it didnt work. Best of luck
