Hello everyone,
I cannot boot my windows cd in my asus n53jn. I have already searched a lot about the issue and tried serveral things, which:
. I boot in other pc with the windows cd - sucess
- I installed a windows copy in a usb and tried to boot it - No sucess and yes I went to bios first to enable to usb boot.
- I used the same usb to boot in other pc - sucess
- I used a ubuntu "live usb" and formatted the HD to ntfs. - didnt make any difference.
- I used my HD in other pc and was able to install everything I wanted.
- I used other HD already with win7 installed in my asus and when the OS is starting I get a blue screen and reboot.
- I ran a memtest86 and had no errors.
- I flashed my Bios
- Removed the motherboard battery for 2 minutes.
(sorry for all the "I"s)
- At this point Im using a dban usb to wipe my HD. I understand that HD will probably not be the problem but I cant find any other solution.
I believe this happened because I cleaned my HD when was running a ubuntu OS only. The boot loader is prepared for linux.
Maybe cd drive is broken, but usb should do the job since I can boot ubuntu.
[update] - So I ran dban disk and erased completely the HD. Nothing changed as suspected. I will try to borrow other cd drive to test. Anyway, if windows usb does not boot, I dont think a cd will.
Please help me.
Thanks!
