How to create a new homegroup?

I want to create a new homegroup on my home network, but windows 7 is telling me one already exists. It was created by a computer I do not have access to. The only options on the Homegroup window is to join the existing homegroup. How do i create a new homegroup on my desktop?

You can leave the homegroup that you are in, and then you can create a new one.

Go to: Control panel -> Homegroup -> Leave the homegroup
Then you can create a new one.
