I just bought a Western Digital 3 TB drive, I put it in my PC converted it to GPT with allocation of 8192. I took it out of my PC, and now placed the drive inside a "RetailPlus" external hard drive case ... ( http://www.bestbuy.ca/en-CA/product/retail-plus-retail-plus-1tb-3-5-external-hard-drive-hde11tu3-hde11tu3/10198681.aspx ) . Now when I plug it in, it is not recognized in Windows 7, the drive shows up as a USB disk in Disk Management but beyond that I can't see the drive n my Computer or access it in any way. What am I doing wrong, or is it a setting?

Thanks.

More than likely its the retailplus. I would attempt to contact them and see if they have a utility that will format/allow a 3tb drive.

WD had the same thing for a while, their 3tb externals were showing up as 2.2 +.768 and you needed their utility to use it as one 3tb drive.
