The other day, I decided to finally clean my computer, getting rid of all the dust etc...One thing led to another, and I tried to remove the CPU Heatsink+Fan, and in doing so, the CPU had apparently become stuck to the fan. I removed the CPU from the fan, using a hair dryer, to heat it up then used Iso Alcohol to clean the heat sink off. To make a long story short, i've bent some CPU pins, and maybe broken one or two off. I straightened them up, and put the CPU back in.

All was working reasonably well, until I noticed that only 4GB of RAM was being detected, instead of my 8GB (2x4) installed. For some reason, 1 RAM stick wouldn't work at all, and I couldn't boot with it, while the other worked well. So I tested all the slots, and still only 1 RAM stick works, that's fine, I can get a new stick, but now the computer just cold boots, even with the good RAM installed. The GPU fan spins for a literally 0.5 seconds then stops. I wouldn't even call it a spin, it just nudges then stops. The CPU LED light is red.

Have I messed everything up? What can I do about it? Any help would be appreciated.

EDIT: Would it be advised to take it all apart, and put it together from scratch? Or is that just a waste of time?

EDIT: Would the CPU cause the GPU to stop working as well? Or is that something else entirely?

In short yes you have in respect to the story of the cpu.

Bent pins are fine, if you can straighten them, but broken or missing ones that is a major problem.
And the reason why the memory is not reading as it was can be down to a broken or missing pin of the cpu.

Have another check of the pins of the cpu for missing ones. If you find any missing the only thing to do is buy a new cpu.
If its a case of a bent one again straighten it up.

Then you should get the full 8gb of memory reading again.
