how do i test for powerline ethernet connectivity before buying equipment?

If you have a fairly new house and the wiring is done correctly it should not be an issue for a single level house.
2 story house should be fine also if you have an older house with old wiring say 15 years old may want to get a meter and check to see if voltages are consistant from where u put one module to the next.
