Idle temps of i7 3770K (Ivy) are too damn high!

Ran Prime 95 for 10 minutes with no OC using an H80i cooler in intake configuration and hit 85-90's. Applied and re-applied Arctic Silver 5 3 times in line method already. PLEASE HELP

More about idle temps 3770k ivy damn high
  1. I have the same cooler, but 4670k. By using P95 also getting those temps at 4.5GHz @ 1.29V. Prime95 tends to overvolt the cpu, 1.29v was manually set and was going to 1.36V. That's why I now use AIDA64.
  2. Sorry I should've also included my idle temps of 30-45. Also, Core Temps auto-shuts down my system when I hit 90... and thats when im just running skype and watching stuff on Hulu.
  3. Maybe your water pump is malfunctioning

    ????????????????

Well I was hoping you'd list the memory speed so I could avoid typing a bunch for nothing, but since you didn't I'll just say if you are running memory speeds past 1600mhz, you are actually overclocking the CPU memory controller and adding heat.
  7. Speed of the RAM is 2133. Like I said I don't have the rig in front of me so I had to get... creative lol
