Hello. I'm interested in mining Bitcoins, and I need a rig. I've built Gaming PC's, but never a miner. My budget is 15k, but there should probably be two rigs, therefore 7,500$ each. I live in the U.S., so Newegg, TigerDirect, and Amazon would be my preferred part companies. I intend on GPU Mining. Please include all parts, even the case. I'd be very appreciative if someone could help me out.

Thank you.

Starting with a $15,000 investment in hardware, including the ongoing costs of electricity, how long will it take to you break even?
Of course factoring in the declining efficiency of GPU mining over time.

It'll take a while, but moneys really not an issue for me. I'm willing to take the risk.

Define "a while". 6 weeks, 6 months, 6 years....never? There are various calculators out there to figure that out.

15k for a BTC mining rig? Well all I have to say to that is "google is your friend". Go to a bitcoin forum and ask that question. You will probably get a ton of smartass remarks but they will lead you in the right direction. You would be better off mining in the alt coin scrypt realm than trying to mine BTC with GPUs.

If you really want to mine BTC then you should search for the companies that are building ASIC miners specifically for BTC mining. Insanely expensive but that doesnt seem to be an issue here.

If you are looking to make money then you can make much more minig alt coins with GPUs and you could make a very profitable setup with 15k. I have a bunch of rigs that give me about 5000khash on a consistant basis. This cost me about $4000. I make about 0.25 BTC every 8 days. At this time that is worth about $217 every 8 days. I used to do alot better but things are becoming more difficult as this becomes more popular. So I guess this kinda gives youa picture of what you could do with your 15k mining scrypt coins. Thats a whole different animal than mining BTC. Plenty of dedicated sites out there to show you how to setup a miner if you know how to use google. Thats how I did it and I knew nothing when I started about 1 year ago. Good luck

You will really need to look over this build and make sure it's right but this is the kinda thing you want
The butterfly labs cards take 350w each...
You can choose os

Also, the case might need a few case fans depending on how hot the cards are

To cut the long story short just go for this as a complete solution that is in range of you're budget:

& for comparison purpose:

The GPUs are not for computing - bitcoin mining the FPGAs are so leave the GPUs for that they are good & that's GAMING!
