Ok so I have the hpe h8-1220 stock until this point. Recently I bougjt a new 500w psu and an R9 280x to replace the stock geforce gt530. Fx-8100 cpu, I know. 10 gigs 1333 ram, 2tb hdd. My bios is the ami ang_713. The thing is when I install it the way I looked up all over the internet, I get no display. Like the computer is running and I get no POST so that isn't the thing. I can put in my old gpu and it works fine. Pls help. :-(

Did you properly attach the dual 6/8 pin connectors to the end of the card. You may want to try re-seating the connectors to make sure they are connected. Also try re-seating the card itself. Make sure it is firmly into the first PCIe slot. You did completely UNinstall the NVidia driver and install the AMD driver? I would Uninstall the NVidia driver first, boot the system to Windows, make sure everything is fine with the Windows driver, then ( before you try to play any games ) install the newest AMD driver from your desktop. Download it ahead of time, so it is ready to be installed.

The 20/24 is firmly in. The four prong cpu plug is in. The 6 and 8 pins are plugged into gpu and it is properly seated. Being said it doesn't seem to work on my brother's rig either which has a cx 750. I RMA'd the first one they sent me so I'm assuming that it must be something to do with the bios.
