Just got a new motherboard and I am planning on installing a fresh copy of Windows 7 on my computer. Will this wipe my hard drive if it was using Windows 7 to start with? Thanks for any answers!

Yes, you would want to backup the data on another storage device.

New installation, be prepared to reinstall all your applications.

As with any major change, save your critical files elsewhere first. They will probably be saved in a folder called "Windows.old". Unless you check the wrong checkbox during the install.

Always, always....have another copy offline during the changeover.
