sata 2 doesnt work on sata 3

hello guys
i bought a toshiba HD and install it on my Motherboard and it doesnt work
my motherboard is asrock G41M-VS3 R2.0 which is a sata 2
what can i do to make it work???
 
Solution
First, check that it is installed correctly. You may have forgotten to plug the power in, etc...

Then check the following: Can the drive be seen in the bios or windows device manager or better yet, windows explorer?

So far I can only think of is needing a jumper, or power/SATA cable not plugged in. Most of the time the HDD will auto detect the SATA2 port without need for a jumper though.
Go to the desktop, find My Computer, right-click on it. Select Manage. Then select Disk Management. Do you see the new hard drive there? If you don't, send it back where you bought it. If you do see it, you need to make a partition and format it.
