Hello, Tom' Hardware tech,

I am Rafael. I recently grew interest for PC gaming, but I have never had one before, being my experience with computers mainly with lap-tops for my work. I started reading a little a bit so I can understand the tech behind the machine. I would like to build an AMD cpu and gpu based gaming pc, but as I have never built a pc before, I don't know how to start it. My budget is around $ 1200,00. I have just read the entire article $800,00 gaming pc on this web site, and that's given me a good idea of what I want, but with less restrictions though. Can you help me choose the parts, having in mind my 1200,00 budget?
Thank you very much!

Here is a pretty decent AMD build I came up for $1138.00 I did not include a operating system cause I was not sure what you wanted. But once you factor in the OS you will be right around $1200.

Based on your suggestions I have come up with this build to compare with yours:

What do you think?
What would you change?

Don't get an 8150, it's actually a different core architecture from the 83xx series, and is very bad. Also, you don't need 16GB of RAM, get a single kit of 2 sticks of 4GB each, so 2x4GB of 1600Mhz CAS8 or 9. You also shouldn't need two separate HDDs, one 1TB drive will be PLENTY. Believe me, I have my entire Steam, Origin, and Uplay libraries on my computer and only takes up about 400GB of space. Finally, take those savings and get a much better GPU. The one you picked is way underpowered for gaming at 1080p.

LMAO, that was funny. I couldn't help but post here. I had a build made up there, and that's exactly what I was thinking. "Hey, that looks awfully familiar!"
