When booting it'll get to the blue screen with the wistful blue background image. The mouse will be there and moveable. After a couple moments the screen will flicker once.. the mouse will get a waiting circle icon next to it, then the screen will start to flicker like crazy and there is no getting past this point.
Have tried safe mode... gets stuck at the same step. Tried using the OS disk to repair startup.
I currently have installed a new OS on a different SDD and can access the primary drive just fine from within the new windows... did a chkdsk on it and it checks out ok. The system says that there is nothing wrong with the boot, the problem happens after the boot.
