With the laptop on, shine a flashlight at the screen, see if there isn't a faint image on the screen. If you can see a faint image then there is an issue with the backlight or power inverter, both fixable.
If you cannot see an image there, please describe as best as possible the light sequence that the laptop goes through when trying to start (which lights, what color they show)

I don't see any image at all on my screen. with or without flashlight
(i have the battery all the way out of computer) i unplug it, i plug it in the first light comes on, when i start it up the second light comes on and the fourth light blinks on then off (all lights are same blue color)
from listening to it~it seems its trying to search for the CDrom drive and then thats it (nothing on screen and noise quits)
we have also tried both RAM sticks in slot A by themselves and got nothing

I'm going to go with two different courses of action initially here.
1) Try booting with the battery in, I've had laptops in the past that absolutely refused to boot without a battery in (even if the battery was no good)
if that doesn't do it,
2) Remove the HDD, this video should help there, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pzzrMYk3q3I and try booting without the hard drive installed, see if any change in the light sequence

The last thing I can offer is to try without ram, after that I think all I can offer are salvage tips but this doesn't look good

I might suggest taking it to a local repair shop just to confirm there isn't something I'm not currently considering.

tried yesterday with one ram card then switched them, then tried with both out ~ I know the CDrom is trying to search for a disk does that mean anything at all ? also tried FN key with F7, F2

Did you ever find out what is wrong with your computer, because I'm having the same problem.

Wrolle .. nope sure didn't ... I put in back in the box and it has been there since, We think it may be a "motherboard" problem but not sure. Good luck and if you do find out what is wrong would like to hear how you got it fixed.
