Hi, I've been having a problem with my graphics card, it's a Sapphire ATI radeon 6850 HD.

So here's the problem. I've overclocked my card and been playing games with it just fine for a while, but now, it stopped working and gave me a blue screen.

From that point, everytime I try to restart my computer it won't load past the windows logo. Now I got into safe mode, uninstalled the driver and was able to get my PC running but I just can't boot and have the same problem again everytime I try to start Windows up with the Graphics card.

I want to restore the card's settings to default, but it won't let me since I can't get into windows. I overclocked it through CCC so I have to get to CCC to do that.

For the past couple of days I've tried everything from removing and uninstalling the drivers, to whole system format.

My guess is that the card itself is stuck in those "overclocked" settings and won't let Windows boot.

Do I have to do something like a BIOS flash to get it to factory settings, or is there any other solution? Please let me know. Your help will be most appreciated.

Thanks.

I'm still able to get video through the card though. It's just that, whenever I install the CCC and the drivers, it'll ask me to reboot to complete the installation. That's when it won't respond by just becoming unresponsive after the Windows logo.

I've read in some other forum. A guy, just like me, overclocked his card through CCC, and couldn't get in. He was able to fix it because one day his card let in log in to Windows, after which he immediately reduced the settings to factory. I want to do the exact same thing. It's fine if the card crashes when launching a game, I just need access to CCC.

I also tried the no Aero thing. Like I switched to Windows classic, and set my PC and my motherboard to maximum power savings mode for a chance to be able to let it load Windows so I can complete the CCC installation and access it's overclock settings.

Are there any other things that I can do, so I get my computer to not use the card much? In addition to setting the theme to classic I mean.

laviniuc was right, The Card must be broken because of Overclocking but i can tell you what to do. Instead of Overclocking your card just buy a new one. This is the temporary fix for this problem. You can check your RAM or the Card because sometimes when the ram takes a little higher amount of usage it will comes to a BlueScreen that the bluescreen will tell that it is a MEMORY.DMP so instead of taking overclocking on your card just buy a new one. This Problem happend to me too.
