Hello

I am from the other side of the world ( netherland ).
I have an p5e MB with the qx9650 and ram is
ozc platnium 8 gb 4x2.
Videocard is the xfx r290
Windows 7 64 bit

When i play battlefield i cant get a 60 fps stable on ultra settings.
On medium settings it is approx 45 fps not stable

low settings 60 straight

vsync is off on all the settings

I o.c the speed up to 4.3ghz but is also not helping.
I tested a few time in high multiplier 20 and a few runs at 1700fsb.

Is this bottlenecked because of the cpu ??

( i have been reading on the forum for an while but i havent seen the same proccesor and the card problem)

Thanks

Mustafa

Battlefield 4 is one of the most CPU intense games available. Your CPU is getting pretty old and is far behind modern CPUs.

Even at 4.3GHz, the Core 2 Quad series is still slower than modern quad core and up CPUs due to older IPC capabilities.

So yes, you have a bottleneck.

First make sure you're using the latest drivers, there have been issues with earlier revisions not reading the R9 290 fan speed correctly making the card run hotter than it should, causing it to throttle.
Sounds like you know what you are doing, but be aware those older Intel processors have a maximum temperature of about 65C, above that and they will slow themselves down to prevent damage.
And yes, the system is being restricted by the CPU.

I was reading on sone topics that when you cpu cant puss enough data you gpu isnt working on 100% gpu on the game.

When i am playing at 4.3ghz cpu usage is almost 90 and the gpu usage is most of the time at 100%

So when i buy a i7 the gpu cant still go over the 100% .
how is it possible then to get more fps.

Thanks
