Hi, I'm currently building a new gaming pc and would like any suggestions/recommendations with regards to bringing the cost down without performance degradation. I live in South Africa so the prices here are a bit higher than usual. No OC'ing will be done. All purchases will be made from: ikonix.co.za

Build:
Chassis: Antec 900 Two - R1,238.00
Motherboard: Gigabyte ga-B85M-HD3 - R1,052.00
PSU: Corsair CX600 - R801.00
CPU: i5 4570 (was going to take the 4670 but apparently there's very little difference to be noticed) - R2,533.00
RAM: 2x4Gb Corsair Vengeance 1600MHz 1.5v - R1,238.00
GPU: Sapphire HD7870 2GB (much cheaper than gtx 660ti here) - R2,695.00
HDD: Samsung Spinpoint 1TB - R809.00
Optical: LG GH24NS90 24X - R168.00

Total: R10 898.00

Please note that the exchange rate is roughly 10:1 (USD:ZAR)

Please let me know if any parts are overkill or unnecessary or if there are any imbalances.

Thanks :)

Solution
It looks like a pretty balanced build. You may be able to do better on a case though, I would look at the Corsair 400R which is similar in style but has much better features. Should be a good build.

Thanks for the reply :) I'm actually building this PC for a friend and he chose the case which he was quite adamant on (for purely aesthetic reasons).

Thanks again :)

I'm actually going to try and reduce that CX600 to a CX500, i think the power will still be adequate no (Might get an SSD later on)?
