So I've been thinking if I should purchase an SSD for my new build. Is it beneficial? I already have a 1TB HDD coming in, but would a SSD be beneficial? I'm looking to spend $100-$150. If so, I just want the best SSD bang for my buck (reliability and performance) My build looks like this.

Yes, a SSD would definitely be beneficial if you can afford it. Samsung is know to produce reliable SSDs, I would get a Samsung branded 120GB SSD but if reliability is really important for you then get a Crucial M4 120GB SSD.

What if both reliability and performance are important to me?

The best Samsung SSD you can afford (EVO or PRO).
